Will Schnell

Will Schnell has over 35 years of experience managing athletic fields in the NFL, MLB, MLS, and, most recently, for the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. Will’s approach to management focuses on effective communication, understanding expectations/budgets, and then formulating a plan that equally addresses playability, player safety, aesthetics, plant/soil health, and good drainage. Will has managed warm and cool seasons grasses as a mono-stand and combined in hybrid fields such as Bluemuda at the Rose Bowl. During his career, Will has grown turfgrass in a full spectrum of growing mediums and sod profiles from 100% USGA sands to native heavier soils and sod profiles that are native, modified, and sod that is grown on plastic.
